A year(ish) in progress

A side by side comparison shot of my Steampunk Sailor Moon cosplay. On the left was taken at FAE 2012 when I first did this cosplay. It was the first costume I ever did that wasn't a bought costume. On the right was taken at Holiday Matsuri 2013, well over a year later (shout out to my good fried Eddie @ Papanotzzi for the photo) here is the same costume again. I finally found the perfect (and affordable) corset and didn't feel pressured to get the corset. I know I should of gotten a corset sooner (cause I'm sure a certain someone is going to read this and prolly freak out over the corset problem, again) and one that looks more steampunk like. While those corsets were perfect and "affordable", I truely didn't feel like dumping $70-$90 for a corset on a costume that I'm not 100% focused on. It was hard to explain to my friend without upsetting them. 
However, it's because of them that I choose to pull this costume out of retirement. And boy am I really happy over how this turned out. I felt more like Steampunk Sailor Moon while in this costume then I ever did out of the few times I wore it. What sucks is because of my severe stage arthritis that I've suffered from since I was 16, it caused me lots of pain at the end of the day and I had several guys willing to rip me out of the corset to help me breath better, and it wasn't tight on me. Sadly it did worsen my state, which sent me to the hospital. 
I hope to wear this cosplay more often, and I'm working with my doctor on treating my arthritis so that I can wear the corset a little more tighter as well as much more often.
